Catching a few lobsters...
/ Matthew Rotella Week 5 PPJ: A Hairy Shift
May 8, 2017

This week has been a week of sickness and sorrow as I experienced a myriad of flu like symptoms. However I still manged to get some work done, though much of it is not yet in a state I can show here.

I had a lighting shift and a small animation update for the psychedelic inside the supernova sequence.

The biggest thing that I did this week though was making the shift from simulated hair, to deformer driven hair in the atmosphere entry wide shot. Brendan also added plants and a lake to the shot, as well as cloud shadows that I in turn, animated. Here is the updated look, though the hair needs to be color corrected in post:

In the next few days my focus is going to shift towards getting updated comps of all of my shots.

Lobster Fact: Lobsters a triple compound mouth, with each mouth containing a smaller mouth. The purpose of this is to more efficiently swallow prey.
